MSHA approved • Braided high tensile steel wire reinforcement FEATURES / BENEFITS • Meets EN 853 2SN and EN 857 2SC performance • Superior flex impulse performance • Lower force-to-bend for faster, more ergonomic installation • Lightweight SUITABILITY • High pressure hydraulic applications • Compatible with biodegradable hydraulic fluids, including synthetic esters, polyglycols and vegetable oils, as well as petroleum based fluids TEMPERATURE RANGE -40°C to +100°C DESCRIPTION Gates’ couplings are no-skive, which means that assemblies are not exposed to the risk of contamination that comes with their skived counterparts. No-skive assemblies also resist moisture better than skived and as MegaCrimp ™ ’s advanced tooth profile bites-the-wire without relying on compression of the hose’s outer cover, it offers the most secure, leak-free assembly that money can buy. Additionally, the revolutionary patented MegaCrimp C-insert not only ensures that an optimum cylindrical crimping force is applied, it increases assembly lifetime, which gives you better flow and improved pressure and temperature resistance. Gates’ compact hoses are designed to offer improved routing and deliver their superior performance at incredibly tight bend radii and are manufactured to require minimal bending force. MEGACRIMP STAYS INSERTED Once inserted, MegaCrimp stays inserted. It won’t fall out during the crimping process. The advanced design of the MegaCrimp tooth profile, shown on the right, “bites the wire” for better coupling retention, unlike the competitive crimp shown below on the right, which relies on the compression of the rubber. GATES’ GLOBAL SPIRAL COUPLING The GlobalSpiral (GS) hydraulic coupling, from Gates, does not require hose skiving, thereby reducing assembly time, labour, fabrication errors, and contamination of the fluid power system. The GlobalSpiral coupling is a two-piece configuration. This reduces assembly error because, by pulling the ferrule away from the hose end, it is easier to see when the stem is fully and securely inserted into the hose.
