929 Seventeen TOGGLE CLAMPS FEATURES Push-pull toggle clamps are unique due to having similar action to wide-opening locking pliers, but with a flanged body that can be fastened to the fixture or mould against which the work-piece or mould half is to be clamped. Hook toggle clamps are most suitable for applications such as closing and holding closed doors, lids and moulds etc. due to the action of pulling two parts together. Vertical toggle clamps are the most popular type, with the arm and handle rotating in the same direction and high clamping force generated. Horizontal toggle clamps are usually used where height restrictions prevent the use of vertical clamps, or where the action of the clamping arm and handle rotating in opposite directions is more suitable.
